The Skill Shot ramp (Launch Tube) is
made from PVC conduit pipe as shown. A Dremel was used to cutout sections
of the pipe for viewing the ball (the red area). |
|
These are used for the plasma pop
bumper mod and the animated Black Hole mod. The animation motor is removed from
the plastic housing and bolted to the playfield plastic. It fits in-between the plastic and the playfield. |
|
|
The animation assembly was made from
1/16” diameter brass wire bent into a spiral and fastened
to a disc/tube base. The base attaches to the motor shaft
with a set screw. The objects are
fastened to the brass wire. The objects came from a toy assortment
called Space Toob. The motor fits in-between the plastic
and the playfield and is fastened to the plastic with two screws. There is a second clear plastic under
the main plastic that needs a large hole cut out for motor clearance. |

|
A power strip was added in the cabinet
to accept the plasma disc and animation motor
transformers. The large holes in the cabinet are for
extra air flow. |
|
The plasma discs are battery operated so
they have to be converted to transformer power. Dummy batteries were made using wood dowels
and crimp connectors. The pop bumper
light socket was removed and the new wires fed thru the two holes. All discs are wired together and go to an
under playfield connector. A 3volt regulated power supply was
added. I recommend using a regulated
power supply, not unregulated. |

|
The plasma disc base is attached to
the pop bumper body. The plasma disc
slides onto this base and is hidden by a custom paper graphic skirt. The skirt blends the plasma disc into
the pop bumper. |
