TURNS INTO AN OPEN AIR ARCADE

WITH THE ADDITION OF A GARAGE DOOR SCREEN TO KEEP THE BUGS AND DEBRIS OUT

This arcade gameroom serves two purposes: a garage for one car and a gameroom spanning the entire two car garage area.

To fit one car in, the games on the left side of the photo must move to the right side. They are on casters. There is enough room remaining on the right side of the garage to fit the other games in temporarily. This isn't for everyday garaging of a car but is for the occasional garaging of a car to keep it out of bad weather.

My goal wasn't to squeeze in all the pins I could fit but rather to make a very nice comfortable gameroom where people can gather and relax. I have enough room to add one more pin.

To change the look of the room from a plain garage I painted the floor with a brick red epoxy paint. I also painted the walls a gloss white. I installed cabinets to keep the clutter behind doors. To keep a consistent temperature I installed a portable air conditioner and a garage heater.

The addition of the garage door screen was the thing that made this work. I can open the door to get the open air arcade feel without the bugs and debris blowing in. The screen rolls up to allow the machines and car to move in or out.  The screen I bought was from Kitty Mac.

If all you have available for your gameroom is your garage, you don't have to have it look like a garage! Make it look like a gameroom.
